Match the rod to the technique
Bait sticks and conventionals carry the everyday work — flylining live bait on local and long-range trips. Rail rods are built for big tuna fought off the rail: shorter and more forgiving, with a defined shutoff point rather than a full-parabolic bend. Jig sticks throw the surface iron for yellowtail and calico. Slow pitch and speed jigging rods work jigs vertically below the boat, each with its own action and cadence. Shore jigging and land-based shark rods cover the fast-growing long-cast game from beach and jetty. Spinning rods handle poppers, plugs, and lighter bait work, and trolling rods do the heavy pulling behind the boat.

Build it or buy it built
We don't run a build house, but several of us build rods ourselves — call and we'll talk through your build, and we can point you to trusted local builders for the finished work. Components, blanks, and models not on the site can usually be special-ordered. UC blanks are a local story: the factory delivers to us several times a week, so blanks they have in stock typically reach us within a day or two, and built-to-order blanks run about 10–14 days. On shipping: travel rods qualify for free shipping; all other rods carry a shipping charge — a handling surcharge for rods up to 94 inches and oversize fees beyond that — calculated at checkout before you're billed.
