Avet Raptors are as good as it gets (in my opinion) when you need a reel that will haul a big grouper off the rocks or pull double-duty and troll a big jethead on the shotgun rod (when out trolling for mahi and tuna). Kicks a$$, takes-names….

Initially the price is what got my attention, I ordered one and when I received it I noticed it's almost the size of my Avet HXJ raptor which is one of my favorite overall big yellowtail/ Tuna fishing reels when using jigs of live bait. I started playing around with the 15T reel and noticed it has a super ultra smooth free spool and quality of the build/machining is outstanding, so I literally ordered another one, that's how impressed I was. Highly recommend this reel if you typically go after larger fish and use 80lb braid with a short leader.

Haven’t fished the reel yet but it feels high quality just like the Makaira I bought at the same time.. can’t wait to get it on the water

This surface iron swims perfectly with a wide, erratic kick that drives fish crazy. It casts far, holds up against tough fights, and works great at various speeds. I’ve landed plenty of yellowtail and bonito with it—definitely a must-have in any tackle box!

Exactly what I was looking for in a Jig everyone should have one in their tackle box.

I bought several reels and some tackle. Honest, knowledgeable people. Great experience - would recommend.

Haven’t used the rod clamp yet on actual fish. They are pretty slick and easy to attach to the rod.
I am concerned with small clamp area on the back of the rod compared to a cork buddy. Tighten too much , you may crush your rod.

Great product for SoCal local or long range fishing trip.

I have used just about every mono line ever made, you name it and I've fished it. IMHO there's Firststring Blue and there's everything else as nothing compares as Charkbait is my go to for now on. Reasonable pricing/shipping charges and fresh line. Does not get any better, thank you!
