Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

The Makaira SEa LBS series is Okuma's purpose-built answer for land-based shark fishing, the same two-speed Makaira lever-drag platform trusted on big-game boats, re-worked for anglers fighting large sharks from the beach, jetty, or pier, where there's no boat to chase the fish and the reel has to win the fight on its own. Every size in the series wears a hammerhead etched into the sideplate to mark the LBS edition.
The build is full Makaira: a 6061-T6 machined aluminum frame with forged sideplates, 17-4 grade stainless steel helical-cut gears for torque under load, and a cold-forged, machined aluminum spool. The whole reel, frame, sideplates, spool, drag lever, and handle, is Type-II black anodized for corrosion protection in the salt.
Drag duty falls to Okuma's Carbonite Dual Force system running Cal's universal drag grease. Each reel includes two drag cams, the aggressive cam plus the TDC cam, so you can shape the lever's drag curve to your leader class and fishing style. A custom-designed thrust bearing relieves side load at heavy settings, and a double-dog silent anti-reverse keeps engagement solid. ABEC-5 precision Japanese stainless ball bearings, a heavy-duty stainless ratcheting clicker for soaked baits, and a 125 mm extended handle arm with T-bar knob (right-hand retrieve) round out the package.

- MK-50WII LBS: crossbar frame; 3.2:1 high / 1.3:1 low.
- MK-80WII LBS: crossbar frame, wide spool; 3.1:1 high / 1.2:1 low.
- MK-130II LBS: the newest and largest of the family. Crossbar frame with a full 1,000 yards of 130 lb mono capacity (1,300 yards of 200 lb braid) and low 2.2:1 / 1.2:1 winch gearing for the biggest fish that swim within casting distance of shore.

Initially the price is what got my attention, I ordered one and when I received it I noticed it's almost the size of my Avet HXJ raptor which is one of my favorite overall big yellowtail/ Tuna fishing reels when using jigs of live bait. I started playing around with the 15T reel and noticed it has a super ultra smooth free spool and quality of the build/machining is outstanding, so I literally ordered another one, that's how impressed I was. Highly recommend this reel if you typically go after larger fish and use 80lb braid with a short leader.

I love my new Makaira 50W. I have used Makaira in the past many times and finally ordered my own. This was my first time ordering from Charkbait and cannot epxress how impressed I am with their level of service.
