Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

The Offshore Explorer travel rods feature a Pac Bay "uni-butt" style all aluminum aft sections. Specifically, this is a Pac Bay Channel Lock Aluminum Butt. These trolling oriented stand-up rods are four piece, 6 1/2 feet in length. It's perfect for fishing 50-80# applications. With the Pac Bay butts, they're great for trolling duty. You can drag lures, feathers, lipped divers effortlessly. They feature EVA ringed fore grips for added security and comfort. The guides are rated for Spectra, and the rod’s unique gimbaled screw together construction is extremely solid. Unlike other "ferrule" rods, these screw together within a ferrule, so they twice reinforce their strength and proper alignment of these strong and forgiving fiberglass blanks. This unique connection feature also makes it easier to take the rods apart after a long day’s fishing. For our most recent production a hard case in included rather than the soft case of previous models, and the rods action has also been improved.

I needed a heavy duty rod that I could take on an airplane in a suitcase. I didn’t want to have to carry a rod holder as “carry-on” luggage. The Toro Tamer Offshore Explorer in its 25.5” case (I know the listing says the carrier is 24” long but my personal experience shows it closer to 25.5”) fits great in my checked bag. The rod itself is heavy, with the rod and case weighing in at around 3lbs 9.6 ounces. I matched it up with a Penn Fathom 2 80LD2 reel. It looks well made and I like that the Ferrells **** in to prevent anything from popping apart. At first I thought the guides were not lined up properly with the reel seat, but then I realized I just needed to loosen the nuts holding the sections together and spin a couple (almost) 180 degrees and then everything lined up. I liked the rod so much that I placed another order and got a second Offshore Explored and reel.
This rod fills a special niche as it’s difficult to find a rod that can handle 50 to 80 pounds and yet be portable. The four pieces break down to 22 inches that can then fit into travel bags quite easily. Excellent construction. “**** on” Ferrell sections make it secure. One of The Ferrells was tight, but Ferrell wax solved that immediately. The rod is a bit heavy (fiberglass?) , but willing to endure the weight to be sure that it’s strong enough to handle heavy fish And yet be portable!

Works good & sensitivity is good with live bait. Also will fit in your checked baggage, so no freight fee when coming back from Cabo.

How many grams does this rod weigh?
I'm talking about the weight of the fishing rod.
They're about 1080g, the aluminum unibutt and ferrule alone is about half of the rod weight since these are heavy duty boat trolling/standup rods.
