Ripple Fisher Oceanica DFT Stand Up Tuna Rods

The Oceanica line is a spin off from Ripple Fisher's traditional lineup, a concept of combining commercial rod and reel fishing with specialized lure and bait angling techniques. These are the first rods from them under this concept and come in a similar style with two different line ratings. These are stand up boat rods made to be fished in a harness with high drag loads, when using jigs, ebing, or even drift bait fishing. These would also fit well with chunk fishing for bluefin and yellowfin, marlin, and bigger amberjack and more. 

Unlike most Japanese made rods these feature a heavier aluminum reel seat and butt that protects the blank when in a rod holder, making the reel seat durable enough to fish with a harness and in excess of 70lbs of drag. The aluminum reel seat, butt and gimbal are all machined in house at the rod factory making them uniquely tailored to these rods. These rods also come with a heavy guide set featuring Fuji RB and HB guides spiral wrapped around the blank to prevent the line from touching the blank during high sticking. The blanks have a lot of glass and carbon fiber to make them more durable even when high sticked under heavy load. 

Each rod comes with a durable padded zip-up carrying case for travel.

OCEANICA DFT61/PE6-8

This is a full tubular blank “Stand-up tuna drifting” rod that targets large yellowfin tuna to marlin.
The DFT61/6-8 has a highly sensitive tip section that allows you to send bait to the school of fish, and a flexible belly section that bites well and has high hook-up ability even in severe conditions so that you won't miss any rare opportunities.
It has a strong restoring force unique to tubular blanks and high lifting force that can keep the tuna controlling, but when loaded, it bends smoothly all the way to the handle, reducing the load and allowing for a stable fight even at high drag.
The DFT61/6-8 is a mid-power rod with full torque and speedy fighting performance that allows you to directly feel the thrill of a standing fight.

OCEANICA DFT511/PE12-15

The DFT511/12-15 was developed with a focus on super-large bluefin tuna over 200kg, and its aim was to provide the fighting performance to catch super-large bluefin tuna efficiently and in a short time.

In addition to the strong force of recovery and high lifting power unique to tubular blanks, the butt section is reinforced with high-strength carbon material with high tension, making it a sturdy rod with the power to control even super-large sizes. Despite its overwhelming rod power, in order to minimize physical exhaustion, the fulcrum of the bending during the fight is placed at the angler's hand, and the tapered design allows the entire rod to bend and restore, making it easy to regain position even during long fights under ultra-high loads, allowing for a tenacious and stable fight until landing.
