Delivery & Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.

How long will it take to get my order?

Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.

What carriers do you ship with?

We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

Okuma introduced the Alijos series of reels in 2020, with first models arriving early March.  This series replaces the Andros line, which were very capable reels. They became the casting/jigging version of Makaira series reels. Call them Makaira light, many similar features and benefits in a more compact, lighter bodied reel. The Alijos are lighter than a Mak, easier for most to cast, with a cast control operating mechanically thru the drag system rather than by way of magnetic system.  The Alijos reels to not offer helical cut gears like the Andros and Makaira series, these make use of spur cut gears, simpler production, less concern about sideload pressure. The new Alijos series reels offer high drag capability, super freespool performance, housed in a strong machined aluminum body.  Okuma makes use of their dual force drag system, smoothness of operation is ensured throughout the drag’s range.  For the Alijos series, Okuma made use of an extended handle arm with large T-Bar type handle for optimum power.  CRC (corrosion resistant coating) helps minimize saltwater damage to the reel’s finish, and 6 HPB corrosion resistant bearings are used in this series of reels. The Alijos series carries a 3 year warranty, that’s 2 years beyond most manufacturers. That says something in and of itself.

Checking out the reels, it’s obvious that they spin well and that this manufacturer is listening to us astutely.  Okuma again makes use of the TSI 301 bearing oil and Cal’s drag grease, for exceptional casting and smooth braking.  Handling the reels, you quickly note that these are well designed for long term use in a harsh saltwater world.  Note the drainage ports, 2 on the gear housing, three on the frame so you have nice drainage regardless of the reel’s orientation – whether on a rod or not.  This may seem like a small thing, but it’s something so many manufacturers neglect.  There are two narrow versions are offered, the little 5N and 12NS.  There are two high speed models in the line for those working iron and jigs @ 6.4:1.

The 12 and 16 are also being produced in single speed.  Both reels offer 6.4:1 gears, with a line retrieve rate of 48 and 58 inches per crank respectively.

I Tested The AJ-12SII B4 It went For Sale!

Akin to the Shimano Torium30. One of the better conventionals i've had the pleasure to test in the field for 2-weeks. Fantastic distance casting! Good to hit those beds off the CA coast on jigging expos, get past everyone else lining the rails. I can cast really far! My 1st cast was a "baby" throw as i didn't want to bird-nest. Still went roughly 80yd using only a 5oz alongside a pier. Easily horsed in a monster stingray w/it that had multiple tail barbs and kept trying to stab me!
