Spinner blade and underspin jigs have been used for a very long time but have gained a lot more popularity in the last decade with how effective they have been in freshwater. They’ve quickly moved over to the SoCal inshore bass scene to the point that you probably don’t want to leave without one, they’re effective at getting picky fish to bite since you can work them slower if you need and pickup the pace when they’re biting well. We’ve brought in a small range of colors and sizes we’ve seen work well for us when fishing spotties, sand bass and calicos. You’ll want to be careful where you cast since these are not weedless by any means but they are very effective in bays and harbors around docks.
The Major Craft spins come with a larger blade and a better set of hooks along with a bait clip which makes it easy to switch jigs out when you need to. The sizes we carry are the 18g and 30g, the smaller of which covers the spottie fishing in the bays very well and the larger will get you farther out if you’re fishing the breakwalls or in rougher water.
