Delivery & Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

Decoy calls the DS-8 an evolved teardrop sinker, and that's a fair description — it's the familiar drop shape with six flat faces cut into it and a swivel built into the eye. Those two changes are what separate it from the plain teardrop weight in the bottom of your tackle bag.
The six-face cut form does three things at once. Flats transmit more of what's under them, so you can feel whether you're on sand, gravel or rock instead of just feeling weight. They also stop the sinker rolling on its own, which matters around riprap and boulder — a round weight keeps rolling until it wedges itself into a gap, and a faceted one settles instead. And the tapered drop profile still casts like a bullet.
The eye is a swivel, not a bent wire loop. It kills line twist before it works its way up the leader and it takes the abrasion instead of your line. Decoy specs it for open swivels and snaps, which is what makes it the natural weight for a Zero-Dan rig — the sinker clipped straight to the hook eye with no leader between the two, so the bait sits right on the bottom with the weight leading it. The DS-8's shape is slim enough at the eye that it stays out of the way on the hookset, which is the usual complaint with bulkier weights on that rig.
Picking a weight
The lighter sizes are the sensitivity end — drop-shotting and finesse Zero-Dan where you want to feel everything. The heavier sizes are for punching into cover and for reaction bites, and they hold better in current and wind. 7–14 g are the standard DS-8; 18 g and up are the DS-8H, which is why the price steps up there. Decoy also rates the shape for vertical work offshore, and around here the same logic applies to dropping on structure for calico, sand bass and spotted bay bass, or fishing rock and jetty edges where a rolling weight would find every crack.
Key features
- Six-face cut form — sensitivity, castability and snag resistance in one shape.
- Doesn't roll into gaps in rock and rubble the way a round sinker does.
- Built-in swivel eye resists line twist and protects the line.
- Made for drop shot and Zero-Dan rigs; pairs with open swivels and snaps.
- Hard material Decoy selected for feel — you read the bottom, not just the weight.
- Slim at the eye, so it stays clear of the hookset.
