Delivery & Shipping
Delivery & Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

The Seaborg G1800M-RJ is the flagship of Daiwa's electric line — the “Ironking Monster,” and with the Marine Power 3000 discontinued, the biggest gun Daiwa makes for swordfish and serious deep-drop work. The numbers read like a winch spec sheet: 110 lb (50 kg) of max drag, 460 lb (209 kgf) of momentary winding power, and 1,700 yards of 80 lb braid on the spool. With capacity between a typical 50 and 50W reel, it's the go-to for a lot of big-game jobs out here in California — swordfish to big bluefin trolling.
The Remote JOG is in the box
The RJ in the name means the Bluetooth REMOTE JOG comes included — a handheld remote with its own JOG power lever and LCD depth readout, so the reel can be run from anywhere on deck. Manage a spread of deep lines, work the boat, or hand the fight controls to the angler while the rod stays in the holder. On the other Seaborg G models this remote is a separate purchase; here it's standard.

MEGATORQUE-G, at full scale
The MEGATORQUE-G motor in the 1800 runs roughly twice the motor torque of the previous-generation 1200MJ, with 1.7× the bench winding power and 1.5× the drag, all wrapped in aluminum that sheds heat and backed by a 3-year / 300 km motor warranty. MEGATWIN two-speed gearing shifts between a 180 m/min high side and a 70 m/min torque side, automatically under load or manually at a button. The ATD drag stacks nine large carbon washers with an aluminum drag radiator; a MAGSEALED ball bearing seals the spool shaft.

The electric brains
Auto jigging (one-, two-, three-step and random), adjustable auto-stop, chum timer, timer and constant-speed winding, depth alarms with 10 m revision, fishing history, and the largest LCD digits Daiwa has put on a reel — readable in feet or meters, nine languages, always backlit, with an overload-protection breaker behind it all. Hand-cranking runs through a large aluminum round knob on an 85 mm arm at 2.3:1 (25.2" per turn), right-hand.

Power is rated DC 12–24 V (usable 12–26 V): it runs fine on a 12 V electric-reel battery, and a 24 V system unlocks roughly 30% more speed and winding power. Daiwa's Super Lithium or Tough Battery series is the recommended source; household AC is off the table.

Electric reel power & care basics
Electric reel power & care basics
Power. Electric reels run on DC battery power only — never household AC, and never a 24V boat system unless the reel is rated for it (this reel's rating is in the spec table). A dedicated, waterproof reel battery — Daiwa's Super Lithium or Tough Battery series, or a marine deep-cycle — beats running off the boat, whose voltage swings can trip the reel's protection circuit mid-fight. Use only a lithium pack the maker specifies for your model.
If it slows down or stops: it's usually the battery, not the reel. Below about 10V the reel restricts its winding power, and an overload breaker pauses winding for a few seconds under an excessive load or heat spike, then resumes. A cord connected with reversed +/- polarity won't conduct at all.
Care. Rinse gently in cool fresh water (under 30°C/86°F) — mild dish soap and a soft sponge for grime, no solvents or stiff brushes — then dry completely, loosen the drag, and drain the handle knob before storage. Store the power cord disconnected and treat it as a consumable: Daiwa recommends a new cord every two years or roughly 60 outings. And don't open the reel up yourself — the electronics aren't user-serviceable.
