Delivery & Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.

How long will it take to get my order?

Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.

What carriers do you ship with?

We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

Prop 65 Warning ⚠

Daiwa's new Seaborg 300J takes the ache out of deep water. Where hand-cranking up from 1,000 feet leaves your shoulders wrecked the next day, this compact electric does the lifting — and at just 570 g (about 20 oz) it stays light and sensitive enough to fish hand-held all day. Off our coast that means dropping deep rockfish, reds, and lingcod without the workout, then switching to electric jigging for yellowtail and tuna on the same reel.

Power that lasts

The MAGMAX-G motor is the heart of it: strong, fast, and built with roughly 4× the durability of the previous MAGMAX — backed by a 3-year motor warranty. It fishes depths past 1,000 ft with ease and has the torque for slow, loaded lifts. The JOG POWER LEVER puts all of that under your thumb: a gas-pedal dial you feather with one hand while the other stays on the rod, so you can play a fish the way you would on conventional tackle.

Drag, gearing, and hand feel

The ATD carbon drag delivers a max of 35 lb (16 kg) with a smooth, shock-absorbing start that keeps light line honest. Cranking by hand, HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR keeps the 6.3:1 gearing turning smoothly even under load — 87 cm (about 34") per handle turn — and Infinite Anti-Reverse means no backplay on the hookset. A MAGSEALED ball bearing on the spool shaft holds off salt and grit right where corrosion tends to start.

Dialed-in electronics

A large dot-LCD counter stays readable in glare (meters or feet, nine languages), paired with a thumb-set fall-brake dial for drop speed, depth alarms, and a built-in jigging mode that runs three auto-jerk patterns hands-free. The thick-leader level wind passes an FG knot of PE5 braid to a #30 (roughly 100 lb) fluoro leader through its 3.0 mm aperture — ready for real tuna and yellowtail leaders — and the 70–80 mm handle arm adjusts between quick retrieve and maximum torque.

Right- or left-hand

Choose right-hand (SB300J) or left-hand (SB300JL) above. Like any electric reel it runs on a 12–16.8V DC battery — a Daiwa electric-reel battery is recommended (it will not run on household AC or 24V boat power).

Electric reel power & care basics

Power. Electric reels run on DC battery power only — never household AC, and never a 24V boat system unless the reel is rated for it (this reel's rating is in the spec table). A dedicated, waterproof reel battery — Daiwa's Super Lithium or Tough Battery series, or a marine deep-cycle — beats running off the boat, whose voltage swings can trip the reel's protection circuit mid-fight. Use only a lithium pack the maker specifies for your model.

If it slows down or stops: it's usually the battery, not the reel. Below about 10V the reel restricts its winding power, and an overload breaker pauses winding for a few seconds under an excessive load or heat spike, then resumes. A cord connected with reversed +/- polarity won't conduct at all.

Care. Rinse gently in cool fresh water (under 30°C/86°F) — mild dish soap and a soft sponge for grime, no solvents or stiff brushes — then dry completely, loosen the drag, and drain the handle knob before storage. Store the power cord disconnected and treat it as a consumable: Daiwa recommends a new cord every two years or roughly 60 outings. And don't open the reel up yourself — the electronics aren't user-serviceable.
