Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. The Saltiga Skyfin is the third lure in Daiwa's collaboration with Japanese shore-casting angler Ryota Segawa, and the newest after the Saltiga Cuddler stickbaits and the Saltiga Frother popper. Where those two work the surface, the Skyfin is a 210mm subsurface minnow designed to get bit when the topwaters don't bring the fish up: yellowtail, tuna and GTs that follow a stickbait or popper without committing, or sit under the boils and won't rise to a surface lure.
Long Casts From a Big Bait
The Skyfin is the largest lure of the three, yet it gets better casting distance, thanks to its internal tungsten weight-transfer system. A 12mm tungsten ball shifts toward the tail for the cast (the cutaway below shows its path) and also helps the bait start swimming the moment you begin the retrieve. Daiwa named it for a "flying fin": the winged body profile holds a straight, stable flight, even into a headwind or crosswind.

An Easy Slow Roll
The action is what Daiwa calls a high-appeal slow roll: a big, lazy rolling motion with plenty of presence but without a hard thump. It keeps that slow roll on a steady retrieve even at high speed, which makes the Skyfin the easiest lure of the series to work. Cast it, wind it and let the lip do the work, adding an occasional light twitch to give a following fish a moment to eat. The wide lip is kept short so it doesn't upset the flight and made thick for strength, and a small water scoop on the forehead keeps the bait swimming at a crawl and responsive in strong current.

Built for Big Fish
The body is thick-walled ABS with an internal rib structure laid out for strength, made to take hits on rocks and the side of the boat, and it runs on heavy 1.8mm wire. The Skyfin ships with split rings fitted but no hooks. Daiwa designed it around a 4/0 treble: go heavier on the hooks to run it deeper, or lighter to keep it higher in the water column. We stock five of its ten colors.
