Delivery & Shipping
Delivery & Shipping
Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.
What countries do you ship to?
We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via UPS and DHL. International shipping times depend on the products and destination. Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout, for most countries we also collect Duties and Taxes and prepay them so you do not have to deal with the carrier or customs.
How long will it take to get my order?
Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.
What carriers do you ship with?
We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service, GLS and DHL. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

The Tanacom S500J is the palm-size electric — at 800 g (28.2 oz) it fishes in the hand all day, so you feel the bite, set the hook, and fight the fish instead of watching a rod holder do it. Daiwa built it as the value version of its compact JOG-lever platform: same one-thumb control, same deep-drop capability, friendlier price.
One thumb runs everything
The JOG POWER LEVER is a thumb-rolled throttle: motor speed and clutch in one control, so you react to a bite or feather a fish up the water column the way you would on conventional gear. The BRITZ motor (about 1.2× the winding power of the previous S500J) rides in front of the spool — Daiwa's FF construction with the MAGMIGHT structure — and drives through a quiet belt drive. A fall-brake dial sets drop speed instantly, and the one-push clutch and SYNCHRO LEVEL WIND keep line management clean.
Drag and body
The waterproof ATD carbon drag delivers 35 lb (16 kg) with a smooth, shock-absorbing start, on an aluminum die-cast body with 8 ball bearings plus a roller and Infinite Anti-Reverse. Momentary winding power is 72 lb (33 kgf); no-load speed runs 170 m/min through 3.6:1 gears at 21.8" per crank.
The electric brains
Auto jigging programs, adjustable auto-stop, line feeding, fukase (bite-alarm) mode, fixed-speed winding, timer and chumming timer, and a fishing-history log — all on a dot LCD that stays readable through polarized glasses, with feet-or-meters readout, multi-language display, counter lamp, and an overload breaker. Note: the rod clamp is sold separately on this model.
Runs on DC 12–16.8 V — Daiwa's Super Lithium or Tough Battery series is the recommended source; it will not run on household AC or 24 V boat power. Daiwa backs US Tanacoms with a one-year warranty. From tilefish, snapper, and grouper in the Gulf to rockfish, lingcod, and halibut on our coast, this is deep-drop fishing that stays fun.

Electric reel power & care basics
Electric reel power & care basics
Power. Electric reels run on DC battery power only — never household AC, and never a 24V boat system unless the reel is rated for it (this reel's rating is in the spec table). A dedicated, waterproof reel battery — Daiwa's Super Lithium or Tough Battery series, or a marine deep-cycle — beats running off the boat, whose voltage swings can trip the reel's protection circuit mid-fight. Use only a lithium pack the maker specifies for your model.
If it slows down or stops: it's usually the battery, not the reel. Below about 10V the reel restricts its winding power, and an overload breaker pauses winding for a few seconds under an excessive load or heat spike, then resumes. A cord connected with reversed +/- polarity won't conduct at all.
Care. Rinse gently in cool fresh water (under 30°C/86°F) — mild dish soap and a soft sponge for grime, no solvents or stiff brushes — then dry completely, loosen the drag, and drain the handle knob before storage. Store the power cord disconnected and treat it as a consumable: Daiwa recommends a new cord every two years or roughly 60 outings. And don't open the reel up yourself — the electronics aren't user-serviceable.
