Surface iron
The 45 and the C are the long-time favorites — cast far, let it sink to a count of five, and wind. Getting the retrieve speed dialed takes some feel, but once you're there, there's nothing in fishing that's more fun than the surface iron bite. The A1, 4/0 Light, 4/0 Senior, 112 Starman, and Lucky David round out the surface family, and several models come with fixed single hooks — a real advantage for releasing fish, especially toothy critters like barracuda.
Yoyo iron
When the fish are suspended or on the bottom, the heavy iron goes to work: the 4/0 Heavy, TLC, 9, AA, and A2 all swim well on the drop and coming back to the boat, so they pull double duty. The 14A — in light and heavy versions — is the modern return of Tady's big jig: their old #15 was discontinued around 2008, but not before a 274-pound yellowfin came over the rail on one during a long-range trip. The 14A brought that footprint back, and the single-hook tuna versions in glow patterns are the ones the long-range guys reach for.
TSP slow pitch and terminal
The TSP series is Tady's take on slow pitch — hybrid and tuna shapes, with welded-hook and big-game rigged versions ready to fish out of the package. We also stock Tady's wire assist hooks and wahoo wire leaders for rigging your own.
We focus our inventory on the bread-and-butter patterns experienced anglers use most — colors aimed at fish, not fishermen. If you want a pattern we don't stock, call and we'll get it for you.
