The Ridgeback LC is Nomad’s entry into the growing segment of bait replacement metal jigs, these types of jigs have been around forever and will be around forever as they are some of the best producing lures available. The benefit of having a smaller sleeker design with a heavy weight is simply casting distance and depth, you can cast these lures with anything… conventional reels, low profiles, spinning reels and so on. The extra casting distance and heavy weight helps them stay in the water longer giving them more time to attract a bite. While the fish are picky and the bait is small and doesn’t swim well you can cast one of these out and get bites on heavier line without worrying about going down two line classes in fluorocarbon or dropping down to a Size 4 circle hook.

Apart from casting and retrieving these lures also work great fished on the slide. When the captain finds a spot to stop on they’ll turn the boat into a slide, you don’t even have to cast at that point you can just drop the jig in the water and let the movement of the boat take the jig out, this is especially effective when the fish are near the surface and active.
