Do you offer free shipping?

We offer free domestic shipping on most orders over $150 subtotal. This excludes oversized and bulky items such as rods, blanks, gaffs, some tackle boxes, lobster nets, landing nets and other large items. Any 1 piece rod over 7'10" in length often incurs the biggest oversize fees charged by domestic shipping companies although we do have lower rates via other carriers on the West Coast. Any additional shipping fees will be automatically calculated at checkout before any billing is done.

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship products within the US and to almost every country in the world, covering all available destination via FedEx Express and UPS. International shipping times depend on the products and destination and rates are automatically calculated at checkout.

How long will it take to get my order?

Standard shipping can take 3-8 business days depending on location and order volume. If you have requested spooling on your reel or rigging on your lures then it could take an additional day or two. Next day & 2 day shipping is available on most domestic orders (for an additional charge). Orders placed after 12pm Pacific Standard Time will be processed the next business day.

What carriers do you ship with?

We work with UPS, FedEx, US Postal Service and GLS. When your order qualifies for free shipping or has a rod that qualifies for discounted shipping we reserve the right to choose which carrier it is sent with, otherwise you can pick the service you want. UPS Ground ranges from 1 to 7 day delivery, USPS Priority Mail is typically 1-3 days but is not a guaranteed express service, and USPS Ground Advantage takes roughly 3-7 business days. Longer rods are generally sent via GLS unless otherwise specified, this service ranges from 1 - 10 days.

The survival rate for the Fish Saver is right at 100% and does far less damage to the fish than the hypo-puncture venting devices that have been used in the past.

The Fish Saver uses a weight to quickly lower the fish and a retrieval line to bring it back to the surface. This device is simple with no moving parts or triggers and is capable of returning multiple fish at the same time.

Fishermen often catch fish that are too small, out of season, not editable or they just do not want to keep. When these fish are reeled up from deep water, the changes in pressures cause the internal organs and swim bladder to expand, a condition known as fish barotrauma, an injury that occurs due to expansion of gas in a fish’s swim bladder when it is quickly reeled up from deeper water. This condition may result in stomachs protruding from a fish’s mouth, enlarged eyes, and other conditions that keep fish from swimming back to depth. When released, this condition prevents the fish from returning to its habitat causing the fish to die.

Diamond’s Fish Saver has an elongated barbless upside down hook attached to a weight that quickly takes the fish back to the bottom, naturally re-compressing the trapped air relieving the barotrauma effect, oxygenating the fish on the way down and releasing it unharmed.

Important:

1. Avoid rough handling: Avoid dropping the fish, and touch it as little as possible while also using a wet towel or wet hands. This will help to reduce removal of the fish’s protective slime coat.
2. Do not vent: Puncturing the fish’s stomach, swim bladder or other bulging organs is NOT recommended and can cause serious injury or introduce infection. This practice can lead to death.
3. Limit surface time: Snapper/Grouper survival rates related to time. Time spent on the surface and survival rates increase as surface time decreases.

With practice, bottom fish can be released very rapidly, often in less than two minutes after reaching the surface.
