We've seen a lot of good yellowfin caught on the long range trips in the past week or so, a few of our customers had 15-16 day trips that limited out with hundreds of yellowfin released as well. We also saw the first bluefin of the year caught this week with more sure to follow. A few boats are doing exploratory trips to where they have been spotted so we should have good info once they're back. The local bait receivers have been seeing a surplus of anchovies instead of the sardines we are used to so it may be tough for a little while, good time to focus on fishing lures for bass and occasional yellowtail. Hopefully we see the bigger sardines by March like we did last year.

The last year ended up being a pretty great improvement in fishing on the long range side, lots of chances for wahoo, bigger grade yellowfin at the Ridge and even monster record breaking yellowfin further south. We hope to see the same of this year and more. We have some exciting stuff planned for the website this year, we aim to expand the information we provide with each product to make it a one stop shop to find most everything you need.

I'll be attending the fishing show in Osaka Japan again this year and hopefully documenting my visit well so you guys can check out what's available across the pond and what new gear we can or should bring over here. Daiwa already has some exciting new updates and reels ready for our market. Okuma will have several new reels releases this year so that will be a great thing to look forward to. Obviously lots of lures, terminal gear, tackle storage and more. We'll be listing the gear we think is exciting but please feel free to email or call to request new products we should bring in.
