The J-Assist2 hooks offer an upgrade over the J-Assist1, they feature a double woven braid leader instead of a single piece of braid which gives you a lot more abrasion resistance. Each hook in the pack comes with its own ring which makes it great if you wanted to put a hook on each side, otherwise you can put the two together and crimp a leader to both rings to make sure you’ve got a solid connection instead of relying on a split ring. These hooks come with the white & glow flash which is perfect for glow colored jigs, the flash mimics squid tentacles and gives you more bites on the big fish.

New from Mustad, heavy duty big game assist hooks. Lets face facts, most factory made assist hooks are made for small game, perfect for overfished reefs with small fish.  However, taking those same hooks to battle with 200 lb fish is a bad joke, broken hearts the result.  With the exception of some larger, heavier duty 5/0-9/0 assist hooks we had made several years ago, there are few factory made assist hooks which make use of heavier and larger hooks for those of us targeting serious fish.  Most are a 2X design which is fine for smaller fish, but when going for larger grade fish, heavier fish, stronger fish, then the Mustad J-Assist hooks come into play.  Mustad changed that equation with the introduction of their Heavy Jigging Assist hooks.
