Prop 65 Warning ⚠

With the evolution of rail fishing over the last decade UC has decided to release an upgraded series of rail rods that take advantage of the experience and feedback they've compiled over the years. The new RGPX rods use a more reinforced version of the CX blanks that we know and love, the woven carbon added to the main section of the rod makes these more stiff and a line class heavier than the CX's. This doesn't change the tip action so you still get a good bend to let you get line back when the boat moves while giving you more back end power. The rear grip has been extended 1 inch and the fore grip has been extended 2 inches changing the fulcrum point which gives you more leverage and less fatigue despite these rods pulling harder.

Over the last few years the bluefin trolling in Northern California has been producing well and guys have opted to use shorter 7 foot rail rods for their ease of getting around outboard motors, since these are even more reinforced at the butt end these will make great rods to keep in the rod holder when high speed trolling for bluefin.

These are also great for some of the hardest pullers out there, land based shark fishermen, who regularly exceed 60lbs of drag fishing standup. The original CX series had roots in Australian land based game and it translates well to the style of fishing the guys are doing here in the US. If you're looking for a bit more power while still having a forgiving bend when fishing heavy drag this is the way to go. These will fit all of the popular large sizes of reels like the Avet EX/TRX 80-130 or Okuma Makaira 80LBS or 80W, but not the Makaira 130. These feature heavy duty Fuji ring guides with silicon nitride inserts which are as good as it gets for durability, even when compared to roller guides that have a tendency to have issues with salt and sand mixed. These are one of the few great LBS rods made in the US.
