Tady Lures
Tady
manufactures a wide range of lures, from small TLC's all the way up to
the big 15's. In all, there are ten different models to select
from, certain to meet any angler's needs. We
stock several luminous back lures for going deep, as well several of our
offerings feature single siwash hooks for wahoo or larger grade tuna.
Tady earned their reputation as a "go to" lure on the local fleet.
Southern California anglers really toss iron a lot, and Tady
has long
been the brand of choice. The model 45 and C are long time
favorites for surface iron. Their newer model 77 is a larger version of
the 45, great for BIG fish on the surface. For catch and release
anglers, we also have several models with "fixed" single hooks, making
the release of fish much easier, especially toothy critters like
barracuda. Tady also manufactures yoyo style vertical jigging iron. These
can be great lures for when the fish are suspended or on the bottom.
Most interesting, there was a big 274 yellowfin taken recently on a long
range boat on a Tady 15!
Several of these yoyo style lures also do quite well swimming back to the boat, so
they have a dual purpose. In the section below we'll take
you through their line-up of products, from surface to deep jigging for
rockfish and big grouper. Tady lures, we're glad to have 'em in our mix.
They've got the best range of lures of their type on the market, and the
best finishes. No matter where you fish, give them a try. You'll
be tossing iron with confidence when you fish Tady!
New for 2007 - Tady Reintroduced the A1 Light
(pictured above)

NEW Tady A1 - Surface
Tady brought back the A1light iron! This slimmer and trimmer
version of the C offers great swimming action, and can be fished
well using lighter lines. I like tossing 'em on 20-30#. For
barracuda, yellowtail and even dorado this lure can do VERY well. I
think a lot of guys on the East Coast will also find it's a very
effective lure for stripers and probably will be a lot of fun for
blues.

Tady C - Surface
The
Tady C is a surface iron anyone can fish. The C swims great,
provides a really nice kick and action. You really don't have to
be an old salt with decades of experience to make 'em swim and get
bit. The C's will get the attention you deserve, without much of
a learning curve on your part. We stock three of the C's in both
treble and fixed single hook designs. The fixed hooks make it
easier to release fish you don't plan on keeping. Locally, the
barracuda are a blast on surface iron, the the fixed hooks really make
it easier to practice catch and release.

Tady 45 - Surface
There's
no more respected surface jig on the market than the venerable Tady
45. I doubt you'll find any SoCal angler without a half dozen or
more in their tackle box. There really aren't too many fish that
won't eat a 45 when you get the speed dialed in. The 45 swims
great in the hands of an experienced fisherman. There is some
skill needed with a 45, you have to get the speed right to really make
'em swim well. Once you're dialed in, they do GREAT!

Tady 77 - Surface
Tady's
77 is a BIG surface iron, great for larger size yellowtail, tuna,
anything hungry enough to want to nail something more than a simple
snack. The 77 is like a 45 that grew up. It's a fine
swimming lure, similar to the 45 in that you'll probably experiment
a bit to get the speed right for it's best action.

Tady Y2 - Surface
Tady's Y2 is a great surface jig for barracuda and many other
pelagic fish. It offers a great deal of attention getting action
with it's neatly sliced design, and offers single fixed hooks for
easier catch and release fishing.

Tady TLC - YoYo
Tady's
TLC is a delightful chunk of stubby iron to fish. It really is
a trick product. For the guys in the know, it's also a
wonderful white seabass lure. Pin on a squid (live or dead),
then cast it up on the beach. Swim the lure back, slowly on
the bottom, almost like you would if fishing a plastic worm for big
freshwater bass. It works well. This is also a great casting
lure, with it's short wind cheating size and relatively heavy
weight. You can fish it vertically, yoyo style, or as
described cast and retrieve.

Tady A2 - YoYo or
Surface
The
A2 is a do anything lure. You can swim it, vertical jig it,
use it cast and retrieve... It's a very versatile lure that
will get a lot of use. With it's 4 ounce weight, you can cast
it a great distance, and with it's swimming action you can achieve
some impressive catches. If the fish are out there, you can
cover enough water to really assist filling your sack. We
offer this lure in a couple configurations, with the chrome lures
rigged with a single siwash hook for tuna and wahoo, and the painted
lures geared more for yellowtail, jacks, and most other species.

Tady AA - YoYo or
Surface
The
AA is a little lighter than the A2, so it has a little slower drop
when you use it as a cast and retrieve lure. It swims well,
also can be used yoyo style with a little softer flutter than the
AA. It's a dandy yellowtail lure, and you can really work
water column well with this design. It's also quite
economical, not too hard on the budget, but it's murderous on fish!

Tady #9 - YoYo or
Surface
Tady's
#9 is another lure that works well cast and retrieve or vertically in
the yoyo style. It's a fatter bodied lure than the A2 or AA
jigs so it's flutter on the drop is fairly soft. Again, it
does well for a wide range of fish, jigged off the bottom or worked
through the water column. The chrome with blue mackerel
pattern is a very interesting lure, made of solid brass with a single siwash
hook. It's got tuna written all over it!

Tady 4/0 - YoYo
Tady's
big 4/0 is a lure named after the size reel it's most commonly fished
with. It's meaty, big and heavy. You can toss it a mile
with your 4/0 reel, even if you aren't comfortable casting this size
reel.

Tady 15 - YoYo
The Tady 15 is the BIG GUN of iron. Whether you're going for
deepwater rockfish of larger proportions or jigging up some BIG
tuna, this is a great weapon to have aboard. We recently
heard of a 270# yellowfin taken on one of these huge chunks of
iron on one of the long range boats. We stock this lure with
the luminous back, trebles on two patterns and the chrome lures
with large 10/0 single siwash hooks. This is a specialized
piece of iron, useful when you're targeting larger fish.
