Temple Reef Reefer Popping Rods

The Reefer series has been at the top end of the popping rods TR makes, with roots in the original Black Devil series these rods have a ton of pulling power and are made to cast and work the biggest poppers and stickbaits. These rods have a softer tip to make casting lures easier while still maintaining enough backbone for the biggest GT, yellowfin and bluefin. The 76 Model is a PE12 ~200g casting weight rod which is about as big as it gets, it’s hard enough finding lures in that size without spending $150 on handmade wood poppers. The 711 is more reasonable, it works best for poppers in the 120g range and stickbaits around 150-170g.

The blanks used are reverse tapered so they get thinner at the butt which saves weight and improves the durability of the ferrule so you won’t have to worry.
