The Sandeel’s are a great crossover lure that can work on either coast and for both fresh and salt water. They are a traditional swimbait with a more pointed head to match the longer tail design. These work work great for bass and halibut in our SoCal fishery, they would be matching our lizardfish and smaller eels which get bit well in the harbors. The bigger sizes have a similar swimming action to the Big Hammer sledges, so they’ll even work for offshore species on the boats. Lots of guys down south will use them for yellowtail and yellowfin on the kelps. The biggest size has a 5 oz weight so if you’re fishing in shallower water around the islands they’ll even work for rockfish and ling cod, similar to other larger swimbaits.
Each pack comes with a rigged lure and a spare tail, they’re made of durable plastic so they should last a while for most species. The heads will even accommodate Big Hammer swimbaits if you’re looking to switch it up, you just might have to go with some of the thinner profile sizes.
