Penn Clash II Spinning Reels

The Clash series over the last few years has been a go-to for a lot of inshore guys, they’re smooth, light and robust which sets them apart from many other reels in the segment. They have managed to improve the original design with the new generation Clash II reels, using a more water resistant drag system and frame to keep your reel feeling smooth longer. Speaking of which, this is probably the smoothest spinning reel Penn has ever made, surpassing even the Slammer III which boasts better water resistance. They’ve decided to eliminate the larger 6000 and 8000 sizes, instead focusing on the applications most people will use a reel like this for. As an inshore and light offshore reel these work great and are more comfortable to fish than their other offerings due to the large weight savings. Overall these are great smaller spinners and are a go-to in this price segment.

Note that the High Speed reels have a larger spool diameter than the standard gear ratio. The 3000 and 4000 standard gear ratio models include a larger spare EVA ball handle knob.
