I called the shop & Mark answered. I asked his advice on a great surface iron set up. Had my eye on a calstar & open to suggestions for star drag reels. Long story short he paired a United Composite reaper 9E 30-60 with a makaira tesoro 10 for me. He walked me through his reasoning & took the time to give background on both brands (I have 2 makairas a 16 & a 30 which are tanks so was very open to hear they made a star drag). Got a good deal on both & shipping & notifications of were both prompt & quick. Next is my live bait fly lining reel to pair w/ Phenix axis casting rod 8'2" rated 20-45. Definitely coming back... Small and compact, crimps great, and if you pay attention to the side your mainline is from the crimp, it will leave the end of the crimp flared for mono. The thing is pure awesomeness. Everyone i know who's seen/used them are talking about how sweet they are.

We slow pitch these in 100 feet plus awesome jig small grouper all types of snapper they catch fish even if your not straight down even a ripping tide they work caught nice schoolie yellowfin we always have these on hand.
These work great on all species here in South Pacific Costa Rica!!!! Yellowfin Albacore Spanish mackerel wahoo even down rigged them for grouper and big snapper it’s a real versatile lure
