Freshwater/Saltwater, Bay Rods and Two Piece Rods
For guys focusing on bay fishing, freshwater, brackish water, inshore
saltwater and surf use, the React Series of Seeker rods hold a lot of
benefits. They are a lighter line series than the other Seeker products, all
use a nice cork grip and actions suitable for light line fishing. For bass'n
they're wonderful sticks.
We first became interested
in this series by way of some of our kayaking clients.
They wanted rods with a bit more bend, to help cushion strikes by larger
fish. They also needed reliable rods that had some strength and backbone
when needed. The React rods can pull hard, but they're light in the tip for
excellent casting of artificial baits. For plastics and hard bodied lures, they
are wonderful tools for fishermen. The pricing is also very reasonable,
quite affordable. These rods are a little more parabolic in action
that the Inshore series.
The Salmon rods came to our
attention similarly, through our clients in Northern California. The guys
thought highly of the 854, for more than salmon. And, that got us to mess
around with their other rods, and again we liked them. The other rods in the
line are more single purpose than the 853 or 854 in terms of their
application, mooching, downrigger use.... But, they are all built in typical
Seeker fashion, which means excellent. If you are in need of a rod to fish
up to 20#, and need it to be of a two piece design, consider the 854, it's a
very nice rod to own.

As
mentioned, these rods use a traditional cork handle material, some
with triggers (T) for the bait casting models, some spinning, all with
Fuji guides and seat . The rods have a slight blue hue that's
discernable under sunlight, otherwise the rod blanks appear black.

CharkBait
Rod Socks
Our Chark-Sleeves are
a bit different than the one's above. They are
available in three sizes. The base of the
sleeve folds up onto the butt section of the
rod and then can be tied off. So, one size can
fit shorter rods with no problem. They are
made of 89% polyester and 11% lycra (like OJ's
gloves if you remember...). The material is
versatile, durable and quick drying. It's
super stretchy, and the micro polyester fabric
wicks away moisture - like those $60 golf
shirts. Nice product, nice price! These will
stretch up to one foot longer in length. So, a
5' will indeed fit a 6' rod, the 7 will
stretch to a tight 8.
