Calstar rods have taken more big tuna over 200 pounds than all other manufacturer's products combined...by a 3 to 1 margin (San Diego Sportfishing Council from 1998-2000).  They have earned respect from the most demanding of anglers, the guys hitting the long range 10-20 day trips.  Calstar blanks are the top choice among custom rod builders, because their actions are right-on-the-money, and the quality and consistency is excellent.  Calstar Fishing Rods are uncompromising in terms of quality. That comes at a price.  But, for many anglers the price is worth the end result.  The end result is excellence, simply put. 

CharkBait! is very pleased to announce our expansion into the rod blank category.  Many or our clients have special ordered blanks from us in the past, given their experience with us for other products.  Sort of made sense to expand our offerings to accommodate the rod builders among us.  We'll not be offering the other components associated with rod building, just the blanks at this time. One caveat for buyers, rod blanks are non-refundable. Rod blanks are subject to a 20% restocking charge by the manufacturer. Know what you're looking for BEFORE you make your purchase, or contact Tom at our shop prior to ordering if you have any question regarding application for a particular blank.  Defects in workmanship will be replaced at no charge provide you contact us within thirty  days of receipt of goods.  Beyond that point, Calstar maintains a lifetime warrantee against defects on their products. All blanks are inspected prior to shipment by both Calstar and our staff.

*Blanks do carry a shipping charge. While we do have free shipping for orders over $100, for most items, blanks are not covered by this policy. So, please do understand that there will be shipping fees associated with blank purchases. Shipping will be $15 within the continental USA for blanks of seven feet or less, 8 footers will run $20, and note that it's impractical to ship anything longer than 8'6" given excessive freight fees.
