We process orders manually, preferring to have a human actually check things over and contact you should there be questions. Within 24 hours of placing your order you will receive a follow-up email confirmation and final invoice reflecting your total charges (Monday-Friday). You are not billed until we actually send you your final invoice. Orders shipped to CA addresses will have California Sales Taxes applied, out of state orders are tax free. Several years ago a fellow by the name of Robert Koelewyn created a company that manufactured Van Staal reels. He sold that firm to the Zebco people, who now market those products. Van Staal established a very good reputation in the old days, for saltwater anglers fishing from shore and from boats. After selling Van Staal Robert went on to design, engineer and found a new firm, ZeeBaaS in 2005. ZeeBaaS takes spinning reels to a new level, exceeding the expectations of serious anglers. Rob designed these reels to offer increased user-friendliness in terms of maintenance, customization and product upgrade. And, they were made to fish hard, with exceptional drag performance over a wide range of settings (up to 40#'s) Designed with strong materials and superb quality, ZeeBaaS reels are designed to outperform any other on the market. If you liked the old Van Staal's, you'll love the new ZeeBaaS reels.

Initially ZeeBaaS focused their attention to the surf side of saltwater fishing, arguably the most demanding from a service standpoint. in 2010 they began shipping their bailed ZX2 series of reels, long awaited by offshore anglers seeking superior performance in a sealed drag reel of robust design. There are four models in the ZX2 series (20, 22, 25 & 27) priced from $929 to $989. These reels offer unmatched component flexibility with one body having the option of several spools. In this way one reel body can accommodate varied fishing environments and applications. Add-on spools range from $269 to $299. Not inexpensive, that's a factor of the drag system employed and level of quality, but certainly less expensive than the purchase of a secondary reel. The ZX2 full bail reels are perfect for boat use, and surf applications, but make no mistake these were developed for boat application as a primary goal. Deep jigging and casting into schooling tuna is an ideal application for these patented drag technology instruments. These reels have the strength and drag range (up to 40 lbs) required to land tough fighting fish.

ZeeBaaS offers one of the best warranties in the industry, with a 3 year warranty and a 1 year warranty on the wear parts.

ZeeBaaS Accessories

Pride of ownership is one thing, long term satisfaction can be a different story. ZeeBaas goes the extra mile in providing a very serviceable product, it's a design component. And, they offer some accessories which allow you to service your own reel whether you are thousands of miles from home or simply enjoy tinkering. Their service kit offers you every part that can wear under normal hard use. So, if you are traveling away from the States and need a quick repair on normal wear parts, you can get the job done professionally, yourself.

Listed below you'll also note the spare spools and drag caps which allow one body to accommodate different size spools, for added flexibility. There are basically two bodies in this line of reels and each one can utilize two different spools. The small ZX 20 & 22 can accept either of two spools, the larger bodied ZX 25 & 27 can accept the larger two sized spools.

In addition to the parts kit, shown above, the folks at ZeeBaaS have also introduced a new knife, the SurfEdge. The SurfEdge 3.5" knife incorporates the innovative spirit seen in ZeeBaaS reels. It's beautifully crafted, with a 3.5" blade made of 7CR17 steel, ideally suited to sustain performance in salt-water conditions. The handle is machined from solid aluminum bar stock and is a one-piece construction, unlike many other knives that use stampings bound together with rivets or screws. All parts are meticulously crafted out of stainless steel.

The knife is equipped with a durable light-weight nylon sheath with a belt loop and drainage hole enabling it to be functional in the surf. A lanyard is attached to the knife to keep it secure. In addition, the knife has been designed with an affixed belt clip to be used in lieu of the sheath. Knives are serialized on the steel belt clip.

The spring assist button allows for one hand operation to release and close the blade. Another distinct feature the ability to use the line cutting notch while the blade remains in a closed position. The SurfEdge has a one year manufacture's warranty.

EASY TO MAINTAIN.

The ZX spinning reels by ZeeBaaS have many parts that require lubrication and seals that keeps saltwater out. Annual maintenance should be performed on your reel to assure it will function without failure. Seals should be inspected and replaced if required. The gears should be lubricated using only our specially developed lubrication, Z-Lube. This lubrication is available from dealers or directly from ZeeBaaS.
Remember, one of the key points to the ZX line it was designed to be user-friendly - when it comes to maintenance - however, we don't expect every owner will care to maintain their reel themselves. If that is the case, or if you have any concerns with self-maintenance, we always recommend sending the reel in for your annual inspection and maintenance. Cost for this service is only $49.95, but assures you that the maintenance is done right and your reel will last.

The breakdown shown to the right took less than 3 minutes for a trained person to disassemble. Please refer to your user manual for proper instructions and the limited lifetime warranty.
